Male fertility

Male fertility service

Male fertility, assessed properly.

Around half of couples’ fertility difficulties involve a male factor. Mr Pang leads the male infertility service at Chelsea and Westminster, and offers the same structured assessment privately.

The pathway

Five steps, usually completed within a few weeks.

01

Consultation

History, lifestyle and any previous results, with your partner if you wish.

02

Semen analysis

At an accredited laboratory, repeated where needed.

03

Hormones & genetics

Blood tests to look for treatable causes.

04

Examination & ultrasound

Checking for varicocele or blockages.

05

Your plan

A written plan, shared with your fertility clinic with consent.

Working with your fertility clinic

One plan for the couple, not two separate ones.

With your consent, Mr Pang shares results and recommendations with your partner’s fertility team, so decisions about IVF or ICSI are based on a complete picture.

Outpatient treatments

Minimally invasive treatments, in clinic.

Some conditions can be treated as an outpatient, without an operation or a general anaesthetic. Mr Pang will explain whether a treatment is suitable for you, what the evidence shows and what it costs.

Not every treatment suits every man, and for some of these the evidence is still developing. Treatments are offered after a consultation, never as a package.

Fees

Fertility assessment

From £[—]

Includes consultation and examination. Laboratory and scan fees are quoted separately. Self-pay needs no GP referral.

Should both partners be tested at the same time?

Ideally, yes. Testing both partners early avoids delays and gives your fertility team the full picture.
